Air conditioning provides reliable, responsive relief, making the kitchen genuinely comfortable to work in whatever the season.

Key considerations for air conditioning for kitchens

High heat load

Cooking appliances generate significant heat. We calculate the full thermal load including occupancy, appliance output and solar gain when sizing the system.

Unit placement

Indoor units should not be positioned directly above cooking areas where steam, grease and heat could reduce efficiency or cause damage. We identify the optimal position at survey.

Open-plan spaces

Many modern kitchens are open-plan with dining and living areas. A single higher-capacity system may serve the whole space; or a multi-split serving each zone may be more effective. We advise at survey.

Humidity

Cooking produces significant humidity. Air conditioning dehumidifies as it cools, helping to keep the kitchen comfortable and reduce condensation on surfaces and windows.

Can I put an air conditioning unit directly above my hob?

No — we would not position a unit directly above a cooking zone. Heat, steam and grease would reduce efficiency and potentially damage the unit. We identify a suitable alternative position at survey.

Will air conditioning help with cooking smells?

Air conditioning filters and circulates air, which can reduce the concentration of cooking odours. It is not a substitute for proper ventilation/extraction but contributes to a fresher kitchen environment.

My kitchen is open-plan — do I need one system or multiple?

A high-capacity single system is often sufficient for an open-plan kitchen-dining-living space. For larger or zoned spaces, a multi-split may be more appropriate. We advise at survey.
